A HISTORY OF
Liminal Theatre’s East of the Sun and West of the Moon


1)  1997 East of the Sun and West of the Moon premières in Baltimore at Towson University’s graduate theatre program, with a cast of ten.

2)  1998 Joel teaches a one month residency in experimental theatre at Joseph Attila University in Szeged Hungary, his students rehearse and perform a synopsized version of East West.

3)  Co-Directs East West as a dance/theatre piece in collaboration with The Moving Company at the Baltimore Museum of Art, using two actors, four dancers and John Romita (the artist who originated Spiderman).

4)  1998 East West tours for a year, with Young Audiences of Maryland, a cast of four.

5)  2000 East West plays the National Gallery in Washington DC (Saturday Morning at the National) with a cast of nine actors from the University of Rhode Island.

6)  2002 Co-Directs East West for the Sligo Youth Theatre in Sligo, Ireland.

7)  Sligo Youth Theatre remounted the production the following year.

8)  2007 the Omagh District Council produces East West as part of the Omagh/Sligo Joint Cultural Events Program.

2010
Liminal Theatre’s East of the Sun and West of the Moon sees its ninth production at the Roxy Art House in Edinburgh.
